Thank you Ashley Mae Baum, the writer of Two Sides to Every Story (https://2sides2everystorypress.wordpress.com/) for nominating me for the 2017 Liebster Award. I am delighted to accept the award!
The Liebster Award focuses on recognizing new online bloggers who have shown potential. The Award is only offered online and seeks to promote other online bloggers.
What has been your biggest challenge while blogging?
The blogging world is as wide as it can get. There are so many aspects to it, from SEO tools to affiliate marketing. Becoming familiar with all the facets of blogging can be challenging for a beginner.
What is your number one tip for other bloggers?
Grab a niche and dig yourself deeper rather than spreading yourself thin. Pick one field that you are most passionate about, may it be fashion, travel or technology and focus on growing your following for that particular target audience. That way you already know what your followers are interested in.
What are your hobbies other than blogging?
Other than blogging, I enjoy travelling (obviously!) But I am also passionate about dancing. I believe that the principles of dancing teach us so much about life too. Dancing motivates me to take every situation gracefully and learn to go with the flow. It also makes me more tuned with my body and its possibilities.
What successful entrepreneur do you admire and why?
I am truly inspired by Robert Herjavec. He is a son of an immigrant factory worker who is now a rich tycoon and owner of The Herjavec Group, Canada’s largest IT security firm. His humility and empathy despite being so successful is truly inspiring.
Who is your favorite blogger and why?
I learn something new from every blogger I follow. Every blog has so much to offer. It would be difficult to pick any favorites from them.
Tell us about your blog and why you started blogging?
I have been travelling a lot recently, for various reasons (family visits, friend trips, marriage around the corner, etc). Having so many myriad experiences on these trips made me realize how much there is to learn from each place we travel to. Therefore, I started telling people about my experiences in order to inspire others to explore the world and travel more often. Eventually, I realized that travel is not just about the beautiful destinations we go to but about the entire experience – from the clothes we choose to wear to the airlines we fly in. Hence, my blog ‘Beyond Latitudes’ was born. Not only do I talk about off beat travel destinations but also other, often overlooked aspects of travel that are essential to the journey.
An item you can’t live without.
My watch. I think this teller of time is the greatest invention of mankind. Not just for me, but for everyone. We simply could not live without having the concept of minutes, hours, days, etc. It is so integral to us. It is what helps us organize and orient our life. Without this concept of organized time, no understanding of past, present, future (4 days ago, 3 days later, etc) can exist.
What and/or who motivates you to write?
In today’s age, a majority of us are e-consumers and are constantly exposed to new content online. I find it thrilling to be on the other end of the bridge and to be able to put a piece of my own thoughts out into the world. For me, it’s about creating my own little place on our wide virtual landscape.
Now I have to nominate other new and deserving bloggers. The nominations for the next Liebster Award are:
